Clean Energy Workgroup

The Tampa Bay Regional Resiliency Coalition (TBRRC) Clean Energy workgroup was formed fall 2019 and is working to support Local Government efforts to develop objectives, strategies, and deployment plans for overall carbon footprint reduction through increased energy efficiency, fuel reduction, targeted clean energy goals, and innovative energy resilience projects.

For the purposes of the workgroup’s initial efforts, clean energy is defined as long-term energy sources that come from renewable sources in tandem with efficiency gains – for example: wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, biogas and hydropower.

The workgroup will be a forum to discuss technical data needs and processes for conducting energy audits and GHG emissions inventory assessments, and developing baselines, metrics, methodologies, and cost-benefit analysis. The workgroup will also support regional collaboration on best practices and look for opportunities to pursue grants for technical assistance and implementation support.

In person workshop meetings will be held in early 2nd of Quarter of 2020 to develop regional action plan strategies related to clean energy across transportation, buildings, and the community.
